Brine makes 3 quarts
2 1/2 cup vinegar
2 1/2 cup water
2 cup sugar
3 tbsp canning salt
Bring to a boil

Directions:
Directions:
Blanch Aspargus 1-2 minutes depending how big stalk is, then immerse in ice water for 1- 2 minutes

In each jar add:

1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp dill seed ( or dill head)
pinch of alum
1/2 tsp crushed red hot pepper

Process 2 minutes then let sit in hot water bath for 10- 15 minutes

May use recipe for brussel spouts - don't add sugar.
