1 cup sugar
1 tbls butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
2 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup dates cut up
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:


Pour boiling water over cut up dates. Add baking soda and set aside until luke warm.

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and beat until fluffy. Add date mixture, salt, flour, nuts and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour
