2+ 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp.salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup dairy sour cream
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour with baking soda, salt and nutmeg.

Gradually add sugar to shortening in a mixing bowl. Cream until light and fluffy.

Blend in sour cream, eggs and vanilla extract.

Gradually add sifted dry ingredients. Beat well.

Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheets.

Flatten slightly with bottom of glass that has been greased + dipped into sugar.

Bake @ 350 F. for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
