1 c brown sugar
2 c raisins
1 c lard
1 c water
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
2 c flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder

Directions:

Boil sugar, raisins, water, lard, and spices for 3 min. Cool. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to first mixture. Pour into greased loaf tin and bake in moderate oven, 350º for 45 min.
