1 c sifted flour
c graham flour
1 t soda
1 salt
1 c shortening
1 c plus 2 T granulated sugar
1 c plus 2 T brown sugar
1 t vanilla
water
3 eggs
1 c oatmeal
1 large package chocolate chips
c slivered almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all at once--sugars, eggs, vanilla, water and shortening. Add flours and mix. Add chips and nuts. Mix. Add oatmeal. Use an ice cream scoop and place rounded dough on cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Bake at 350 for 14 minutes. Check for doneness. Depending on size of scoop, time may be longer or shorter.

I always double this recipe as they are so popular. We reheat the cookies, 10 seconds for each cookie, and it's like they just came out of the oven. I also tell friends to think of them as fiber.
