¾ c. walnuts
1 c. of cut up dates
1 ½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
3 Tbps. shortening

¾ c. boiling water
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1½ c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Combine the first 5 ingredients. Add 3/4 c. boiling water and let sit for 20 minutes. Add the remaining 3 ingredients. Bake 350 degrees for 60 to 90 minutes. Makes two small - 1 large loaf
