2 c. fresh or canned cherries
1½ c. water or cherry juice
1 c. sugar, less if using sweetened canned cherries
2 T. clear-jel
1/4 t. lemon juice
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Mix cherries with either water or juice. Stir in a mixture of sugar, ½ c. water, clear-jel, lemon juice and salt. Boil 2 minutes or until thickened. Pour into unbaked pie shell and top with second crust, pinching edges together. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400º for 5 minutes then reduce heat to 350º and bake until crust is browned.
