2 c. fresh or canned cherries
1 c. water or cherry juice
1 c. sugar, less if using sweetened canned cherries
2 T. clear-jel
1/4 t. lemon juice
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. Mix cherries with either water or juice. Stir in a mixture of sugar, c. water, clear-jel, lemon juice and salt. Boil 2 minutes or until thickened. Pour into unbaked pie crust and top with second crust. Brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 400 for 5 minutes then reduce heat to 350 and bake until crust is browned.

Thinking of Grandma's canned cherries reminds me of sitting in the cherry tree along the driveway with Regina and Grace, eating tart cherries right from the tree and spitting out the pits. Good memories.--Rachel
