1/2 cup soft shortening (half butter)
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. Milk + 1 tbsp. Cream
1 tsp. flavoring (vanilla or lemon or combination of the two)

1 + 1/4 cups sifted Gold Medal flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together thoroughly 1st 5 ingredients.

Sift together and stir in final 3 ingredients.

Chill dough. Roll very thin (1/16 inch). Cut into desired shapes. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake until delicately browned.
Temperature: 425 F
Time: Bake about 5-7 minutes.
Amount: About 5. dozen 2 + 1/2 inch cookies.
