4 strips bacon, diced
3/4 C. onion, chopped
3/4 C. celery, chopped
1-4 oz. can chopped green chilies
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1-16 oz. can refried beans
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. chili powder
2 C. chicken broth
Hot red pepper sauce, to taste

Garnishes: shredded cheddar cheese and crushed tortilla chips.

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, cook bacon until crisp.
Drain and save 1 tablespoon of the drippings.
Add the onion, celery, chilies and garlic; cook 10 min.
Add the beans, pepper, chili powder and chicken broth.
Add as much of the red pepper sauce as you want.
Simmer for 10 min.
Serve with the garnishes on top of each bowl.
