8 plums washed, stone removed
4 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
Dash of cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Place all ingredients except plums into a deep skillet, large enough to hold all of the plum halves in a single layer. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes or until sugar is totally dissolved. Add plums, cut side down. Simmer 3 minutes and turn over. Simmer for additional 3 minutes just until they are not too firm, but not turning to mush. Spoon into a bowl to serve. Add a dollop of vanilla yogurt to the area where the pit was and drizzle with a little of the syrup. Serve hot or cooled.
