Ingredients:  
1 c. milk
2 cakes yeast (1 cake yeast = tsp. dry)
c. sugar
⅓ c. luke warm water
2 tsp. Salt
1 egg
c. shortening
5 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Put sugar, salt and shortening in large mixing bowl. Scald milk and pour over. Stir well and let mixture cool. Mix dry yeast with warm water following package directions. Add yeast mixture and egg, beat well. Add enough flour to make stiff dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured board & knead until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover and let rise until double. Punch down. (Dough can be refrigerated at this stage of after the rolls are shaped.) Shape into desired rolls. Let rise until double & bake at 400.
