1 gallon of sliced cukes (30 to 40)
½ c. salt
2 green peppers, cut up
8 white onions, sliced
1 tray ice cubes

Combine all ingredients, cover and let stand for 3 hrs. Stir occasionally.

Drain. Add these ingredients to drained cucumbers.
5 c. white vinegar
1½ tsp. Turmeric powder
5 c. sugar
2 tbsp. Mustard seed
½ tsp. Ground cloves
1 tsp. Celery seed

Simmer slowly, but do not boil, just scald. Pack hot in hot jars and seal. Makes 4 quarts.
