Directions:Mix the hot water, sugar, salt, margarine, powdered milk, and a cup of flour. After well mixed add the eggs, another cup of flour and the yeast. After well mixed then add the rest of the flour a cup at a time. Let it knead for five minutes. Put dough in a greased bowl. Cover with a dishtowel and let it rise 2 or 3 times, punching it down between risings. Crescent Rolls: Take the dough and divide it into five balls. Roll out the balls with a rolling pin. Cut dough like a pizza into 8 triangles. Take the two small ends; stretch them a bit then take the long end and wrap it around to form the crescent roll. Place on a greased cookie sheet and let it rise again. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Cinnamon Rolls: Roll out dough into a large rectangle. Take melted butter and brush on dough. Cover with brown sugar and cinnamon. Add nuts or raisins if desired. Roll the rectangle into a long roll. Take a piece of dental floss and cut the roll into 1” pieces. Put on a greased cookie sheet and let rise. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. |
