Aunt Bonnie's Rice Pudding Recipe

1 qt whole milk
½ cup sugar
½ cup rice
1/8 tsp salt
1 egg - beaten
a small amount of butter
1tsp vanilla
1/2 c raisins - (put into hot water and let them soak until soft, a few minutes, before adding them to the pudding.)
½ tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Simmer milk, sugar, rice and salt slowly for 1 hour.
Remove from the stove.
Take out about 2 tbsp of the rice mixture; put into a small bowl and whip in the beaten egg.

Add this back into the rice mixture (whip in so it doesn’t curdle).

Then add into the pudding the bit of butter, vanilla, softened raisins and nutmeg.
