1 pound unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tspns vanilla
1 1/2 tspns salt
1 1/2 cups best-quality chocolate chips
3 cups light brown sugar
4 eggs
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 tspns baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Cream butter until smooth; add sugars.
Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda and slowly beat into the egg mixture.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Transfer the dough to a large sheet of plastic wrap, cover tightly, and chill in the refrigerator for 4 hours or overnight.
Using an ice cream scoop, drop 2-3 TBspns of batter onto parchment lined baking sheets,
4 cookies per sheet.

Bake at 375º for 8-10 minutes, until golden.
Remove from sheets and cool on racks.'
