1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

2 ¼ cups flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. lemon extract
Directions:
Directions:
Cream 1 cup sugar with 1 cup butter. Add 2 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla to butter mixture. Mix dry ingredients together and add to butter mixture. Add ½ tsp. lemon extract.

Chill before rolling out (overnight). Bake at 350º for about 10 minutes (small cookies - 6 to 8 minutes). Makes 6 dozen.

Janice's note (02/07/04): Add some flour so it would roll out easier (⅓ cup more).
