Chocolate Base:
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1½ cups flour
1 tbsp. cocoa

Caramel Filling:
¼ cup butter
1½ cups brown sugar
10 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
4 tbsp. flour

Butter Frosting:
6 tbsps. butter
7 tbsps. icing sugar
2 tbsps. milk
2 tbsps. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Base: Cream the butter, sugar and eggs, then beat in the flour and cocoa. Spread into a 11" x 17" cookie pan. Bake 350ºF for 12 minutes.
Filling: Put the butter, sugar, condensed milk and flour in the top of a double boiler and heat to a slow bubble. Pour the filling over the hot base and pop it back into the oven until it just barely bubbles, about 2 to 3 minutes. (Don't overbake).
Frosting: Put all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat very well with an electric mixer. Do not under beat. When the frosting is very smooth, pour it evenly over the filling. These bars freeze well.
