1 lb. ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
2 cans thick and chunky salsa
1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
1 can chopped green chilies (4.5 oz)
2 tsp. chili powder
1 can pinto beans, drained and rinsed (15-16 oz)
Shredded cheese and sliced green onions, if desired.

Directions:
Directions:
Cook beef and onion over medium heat in skillet on stove top, stirring occasionally, until beef is thoroughly cooked. Drain.
Mix beef and remaining ingredients, except beans, in slow cooker
Cover, cook on low 8-10 hours
Stir in beans, Cover and cook on low heat setting about 5 minutes longer until beans are hot.
Top with cheese and onions.

I have added the beans right away and works well that way too.
Chili beans also taste great in this recipe.
