Cindy Thomas

lbs. smoked ham or bacon, diced
1 lbs. ground pork (or beef)
1 sweet onion (Vidalia) finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 Tbsp. brown sugar
3 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 cup tomato sauce
1 cup fresh pineapple, chopped small
Salt & Pepper
4 Kaiser rolls
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cook bacon until crisp, crumble and set aside. Cook the pork/beef until browned. Add onion and garlic to the meat and cook until soft, about 6 mins. While meat is cooking, in a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire and tomato sauce. Pour into the skillet with the meat & onion. Cook about a minute, then stir in pineapple. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Split open the rolls and toast them under the broiler. Watch them so they don't burn. Fill buns with Hula Joe mix and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
