1 C. milk (lukewarm)
C. sugar
C. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 pack yeast
C. lukewarm water
5-6 C. flour
2 eggs

PRE-COOK PLUMS in boiling water set aside

Ready boiling water in large pot so cooking of plums can happen soon after wrapping in dough. Scald milk. Mix sugar, shortening & salt. Add milk to this mixture. Add yeast & water to lukewarm milk mixture. Add 2 C. flour & eggs beat. Mix in the remaining flour till cleans bowl and into ball. Put flour on kneading area and knead until smooth. Roll out dough. Cut into squares large enough to stretch over a plum. Lower plum dumpling into boiling water and cook for several minutes. (The duration was not stated. Perhaps it is cooked when the dumpling rises in the boiling water.)
