Bread Dressing


Ingredients:

4 cups dry bread cubes
½ cup chopped celery
½ cup chopped onion
Salt, pepper & sage to season.

1 egg, beaten
1 cup liquid (stock or ⅓ cup melted butter with hot water)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry bread cubes with celery and onion. Stir in 1 beaten egg with a fork. Then add about 1 cup liquid to moisten and toss gently. The liquid can be stock made from cooking the giblets or ⅓ cup melted butter with hot water. Add salt, pepper and sage to season.

Put in greased casserole and bake at 350º for one hour. If you place meat (pork chops/chicken) on top of dressing, use less liquid in the dressing.

This is a small recipe that can be increased proportionately.
 

Turkey Gravy


Ingredients:

1 tsp. chicken bouillon
1 cup hot water

5 Tbsp. flour
1 cup cold water

1 pkg. Schilling turkey gravy mix
1 cup cold water

Salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve 1 tsp. chicken bouillon in 1 cup hot water and chill in refrigerator. Mix 5 level Tbsp. flour gradually with 1 cup cold water. Mix one package Schilling turkey gravy mix gradually with 1 cup cold water. Put all of it together, plus 3/4 tsp. salt and 2 turns of pepper mill.

Cook in fry pan over medium heat, stirring constantly - add more water if needed.
