2 cups sugar (brown and white)
¾ cup shortening
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream

5 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

2 tsp. vanilla (can use 1 lemon)
1 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Add 1 cup sour cream to creamed mixture. Sift dry ingredients together--flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt--and add to creamed mixture. Add 2 tsp. vanilla. Add 1 cup finely chopped nuts.

Grease cookie sheets. Flatten with glass - greased and dipped in sugar. 9 dozen.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 350º. (Use middle shelf of oven.)
