(1 loaf) Make a sponge and let stand to rise:
1 Cake Yeast
1 tbsp. Sugar
1 c. Lukewarm Milk
4 c. Flour
c. Butter
2 Eggs
1 c. Sugar
1 tsp. Salt
2 c. Lukewarm Milk
c. Raisins
c. Nuts
Rind of 1 Lemon

Knead, divide into 6 equal parts, and roll in long strips, or ropes. Braid 3 together, twist together and place on top of braid, twist and place the last one on top. Glaze with well beaten egg. Place on greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
