cup shortening (margarine)
⅔ cup sugar
1 - 2 cup flour
3 eggs
1 Tbsp. baking powder
tsp. orange peel
1 Tbsp. vanilla (or anise, vanilla)
tsp. lemon peel
tsp. anise seed
pinch of salt

Drop a teaspoon of batter into middle of each section of pizelle iron. Dust with confectioner's sugar if desired.
