1 bunch fresh basil - washed and stems removed
2 cups sugar
2 cups fresh squeezed lemon juice
2 cups cold sparkling water

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium saucepan add sugar, basil and 1 cup of water. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until sugar is dissolved. Cool and strain. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Mix lemon juice, basil syrup and sparkling water. Pour over ice.

Again, I do not have the time or desire to squeeze 12-15 lemons or more. I use the frozen concentrate and adjust the sugar accordingly.

If the basil is not a fragrant as it should be you can "muddle" the sugar and basil together. (Basically crushing the basil into the sugar) your lemonade may have an off color but it will be very tasty.
