½ cup shortening or butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 mashed bananas
½ cup walnuts or pecans
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F.
Prepare a loaf pan, well buttered with a rectangle of parchment paper on the bottom.

Mix the dry ingredients with a whisk in a large mixing bowl, set aside. In a large glass measure, cream brown sugar
and shortening or butter. Add the eggs, mix. Add the mashed bananas, mix.
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl. Add nuts, fold in.
Bake for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
