Directions:Make a campfire and wait for the flames to die down. Form hamburger into 4 patties. Cut 4 sheets of 12"x18" foil. Arrange ¼ of the potatoes and carrots mixture onto each piece of foil. Place a hamburger patty on top of the vegetable mixture. Place onion slice on top of patty. Salt and pepper to taste. Add pat of margarine to each packet. Bring foil up and around the vegetable mixture and patty. Fold and seal tightly. Cook over hot coals for 30 minutes to an hour or until veggies are tender (don't cook over flaming coals - dinner will be burned). Turn packets over occasionally for even cooking. Remove from the coals making sure to wear campfire gloves. |

Notes: This recipe was learned in Girl Scouts and used when we went camping (what? us camping??). The other essential thing to know about this recipe is that it required eating it while sitting on the "Sit Upon" you made earlier in the year. It was such an easy meal that occasionally we'd make it at home using Dad's Weber grill. We enjoyed it a lot more in the comfort of our own home.
