2 c rich country cream
1/4 tsp baking soda
4-41/2 c flour
1 c sugar
1 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cream, sugar, soda and baking powder in large bowl.
Work in flour
Knead until dough is smooth
Flatten Dough and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight
Next Day:
Divide dough into thirds
Roll out dough to about 1/4 inch thick
Sprinkle top of dough with colored sugar ( I use red sugar)
Cut strips with pastry cutter about 1/2 in thick and shape into hearts
Bake in pre heated 360 º oven
Bake for 7 min
check to make sure bottom of cookie is barely colored
Immediately after baking, I put cookies on a paper plate,
and then put the paper plate of cookies into a zip lock gallon bag
Do not seal until the cookies are cooled
This will keep your cookies yummy and soft

My Aunt Frances would make these cookies every Christmas. Ohh, there were so good.
They are a family favorite in our house
