2lbs. LA-Style beef short ribs (cut 1/8 to ¼ inch thick, flanken-style)
6 garlic cloves
½ teaspoon minced, peeled, fresh ginger (powdered is okay)
½ medium onion (prefer sweet or Vidalia)
1 medium Asian pear (can use 2 Bosc pears or sweet apples)
¼ cup soy sauce (can be low sodium)
2 tablespoons honey
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ingredients (except ribs) in a food processor, process until creamy; transfer to large bowel or plastic bag. Add short ribs and mix well.

Let marinate in fridge at least 1 hour or as long as overnight. Cook as desired.

Best grilled on charcoal or gas grill on high heat. Often served with red leaf lettuce and bean paste which you can buy in an Asian grocery store.
