1 1/2 c flour
1/4 c shortening or butter
3 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c milk
3/4 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla


Streusel filling:
1/2 c brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs flour
2 tbs butter, melted
1/2 c nuts, chopped

Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together. Cut in shortening. Blend in well beaten egg, mixed with milk. Add vanilla and beat just enough to mix well.

Streusel mixture: Mix sugar, flour, and cinnamon together. Blend in melted butter and stir in chopped nuts. Mix well.

Pour half the batter into a well greased 8 in sq baking tin. Sprinkle with half the Streusel mixture. Add remaining batter and sprinkle remaining streusel mixture over top. Bake 25 to 30 min in a quick moderate oven (375º)
