2 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter
4 eggs
8 ripe bananas
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and mix well. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Mix well. Mash bananas in separate bowl then add to creamed mixture. Add chopped nuts. Pour into greased pans.

Bake at 350 for about one hour or until tooth pick inserted in middle comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes on wire rack before removing from pan.

Tom Thumb on Harwood would bag up over ripe bananas and put them in a bag and sell them for dirt cheap.This recipe was printed on the bag. I have used this banana nut bread recipe ever since. Probably over 30 years!
