1 lb raisins
3 c cold water
1 1/2 c sugar
1 tbs shortening
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
Pinch salt
2 tsp soda
3 c flour
1 tsp baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Boil raisins in water for 20 min.
Cream sugar with shortening.
Add spices
Leave soda on top of mixture.
Pour hot mixture into the ingredients.
Add flour and baking powder.
Put in 2 loaf pans.
Bake 45 min.
