1/2 C butter

1 small green or red pepper - chopped

1/2 small onion - chopped

1 can mushroom stems and pieces (4oz) drained and liquid reserved

1/2 C flour

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

1 1/2 C milk

1 1/4 C chicken broth

2 C cooked chicken - cut into pieces

Heat butter in a 3 quart pan over medium-high heat. Cook bell pepper, onions and mushrooms in butter for 3 min, stirring

occasionally. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until bubbly; remove from heat.

Stir in milk, borth and mushroom juice. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir 1 min. Stir in chicken.

Pour over toast
