1 box penne pasta
4 tbsp. olive oil
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1¼ lb. Johnsonville mild Italian sausages (approx. 5 links), crumbled
2-2 ½ c. grape tomatoes, halved lengthwise
1 c. white wine
1 c. assorted pitted olives, chopped
4 garlic cloves, chopped
12 whole basil leaves, torn and sliced small
shredded parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste

Cook pasta until al dente. Chop garlic and olives and set aside. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Add sausages and red onion and cook until slightly caramelized. Drain fat. Add halved tomatoes and cook for two minutes. Pour in wine and cook for another two minutes. Pour in garlic and olive mixture. Stir and continue cooking for several minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Drain pasta and add to the skillet. Use tongs to toss evenly. Add shredded parmesan cheese. Sprinkle basil over the top. Serve straight from the skillet.
