1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 c. quick cooking oatmeal (dry)
1 c. enriched flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg; stir in buttermilk, brown sugar, and shortening. Mix in remaining ingredients until flour is just moistened. Fill greased muffin pans 2/3 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
