cup butter or margarine
cup granulated sugar
cup grated peel of fresh lemon
1 cups flour

1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup walnuts, chopped
2 eggs, beaten slightly
cup flour
grated peel of fresh lemon
tsp. baking powder

1 cup icing sugar
1 tbsp. butter or margarine, softened
2 tbsp. lemon juice

Cream together butter, sugar and lemon peel. Gradually stir in flour to make a soft dough. Press evenly into 13" x 9" x 2" baking pan. Bake 350F for 15 minutes. Meanwhile prepare filling and spread over prepared crust. Bake 350F for 20 minutes longer. Remove from oven. Prepare glaze by gradually blending a small amount of icing sugar into the softened butter, then add lemon juice and remaining sugar, stirring to blend well. Drizzle glaze while hot. Cool then cut ino bars.
