1 stick butter ( not oleo)
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
Pinch salt
1/3 - 1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and chocolate in top of double boiler.
Beat eggs and sugar.
Add chocolate and butter that as been melted, then stir in flour and salt.
Add nuts, then vanilla.

Bake in 9 inch greased pie plate for 25 minutes at 350º. Do not overcook-this is suppose to be sort of "gooey" in the middle.

Take up with metal spatula, serve with ice cream or whipped cream,

This recipe is over 50 years old and these ladies did not have a microwave to use when melting butter and chocolate; therefore a double boiler was used. In 2019, it is difficult to find a double boiler. This recipe was in the Eufaula cookbook, published in 1976.
