Directions:
Bake one pie crust at 425º for 10 minutes. Cool and break into pieces.
Combine ½ berries, ¾ cup butter, ¾ cups sugar and ½ of the cooked pie crust pieces. Spoon the mixture into an unbaked pie shell. Layer the remaining berries, butter, sugar and cooked pie crust pieces on top of the mixture. Put the last pie crust on top and seal and crimp the edges. Cut vents in the top crust for steam to escape.
Brush the top crust with butter and sugar if desired.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce the temperature of the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C), and bake for an additional 20 to 25 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the crust is golden brown. Cool on wire rack.

I got the recipe for this pie from a local news station when I lived in California during the time period when everyone came out to see Micheal Crawford in Phantom of the Opera!
