6 egg yolks
1½ cups sugar
5 cups milk
9 tbsp. flour
dash of salt
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Mix yolks and gradually stir in sugar and then flour, one tbsp. at a time.
When mixed well, slowly pour in milk. Add a dash of salt.
Cook slowly on medium heat stirring constantly, 20-30 minutes, until thickened and the custard coats your spoon. Let cool and add vanilla.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Nana used to save me a bowl of custard because she knew I didn't like Banana Pudding. My tastes have definitely changed for the better. Someone else can share the entire recipe because the last time I made it for daddy I didn't add the bananas to the custard until after I poured it over the vanilla wafers!

Missing step - place Saran Wrap over the top of the custard directly on top of the custard while it is cooling to avoid creating a skin on top.
