1 can pineapple (chunks or slices)in heavy syrup
2 lbs. chicken parts
1 can chicken broth
1/4 cup vinegar
2 T. brown sugar
1 large clove garlic
1 green pepper sliced
2 T. soy sauce
3 T. cornstarch
1/4 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Drain pineapple, reserving syrup
In skillet, brown chicken in shortening. Pour off fat.

Add reserved syrup, broth, vinegar, soy sauce and garlic. Cover and cook over low heat for 40 minutes.

Add green pepper and pineapple. Cook 5 more minutes or until peppers are done. Stir occasionally.

Combine cornstarch and water, add to sauce. Cook, stirring until thickened. Serve with cooked rice.

I like to bread the chicken lightly before I brown it. Then combine all ingredients in a large baking dish, and bake in the oven at 350 for about 45 minutes.
