Oatmeal Scotchies Recipe

1c. ( 2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. grated orange peel ( app. 1 orange)
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. Quaker Oats
1/2 tsp. salt
1 12 oz. pkg. butterscotch morsels
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Heat oven to 375. Beat butter( or margarine), sugar, eggs, vanilla, orange peel until creamy. Gradually add combined flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; mix well. Stir in remaining ingredients. Drop by level measuring tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 7-8 minutes for a chewy cookie, or 9-10 minutes for a crisp cookie. Cool 2 minutes on cookie sheet. Remove to wire rack. Cool completely.
