1 yellow cake mix
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
4 eggs


Icing:
2 1/4 cups sugar
1 1/4 stick oleo
1 small can carnation milk
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 teaspsoon vanilla

For the cake, mix together cake mix, cooking oil, sugar and sour cream. Add eggs one at a time. Mix well after each egg. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes. Take out of oven and let cool.

For the icing: Brown 1/4 cup sugar. Add oleo (melt good and mix well), Add a cup of sugar and mix well. Add the can of carnation milk and mix well. Let the mixture come to a boil. Add remaining sugar. Cook to firm ball (not hard) tested in ice water. Remove from heat. Add 1/3 cup powdered sugar. Add vanilla and beat to spreading consistency. Spread on cake.
