1 cup raisins
1 1/2 cups hot water
1 stick butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/4 teaspoon allspice
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda dissolved in 1 teaspoon water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
In saucepan, boil raisins, water, butter, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and allspice for 3 minutes over medium heat. Let cool. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Fold in nuts. Pour into a greased and floured 17 x 11 x 3/4-inch jelly roll pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into bars when cooled.
