1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon cream of tarter
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
dash nutmeg (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. Stir in vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together and add to butter mixture. Chill dough 2 hours or overnight. Roll out dough and cut to desired shapes. Bake in 350 degree oven for 6 to 8 minutes.
