Personal Notes:
Every July 4, Magnus & Delores would host an all day picnic at their place 2 miles west of Sisseton along Hwy 10. They had 4 acres on the former site of the Spring Grove Night Club. After it burned down, McGurk's sold the 4 acre property to Magnus & Delores. They put countless hours into improving the property (burying piles of beer bottles, planting roses & trees). Steve & Lindsey mowed for an entire week before the 4th. The whole family was up early on the 4th, Mom making coffee and the rest of us getting 3 charcoal grills lit. Dad would carefully balance 6 turkeys (2 per spit) so the rotisserie would operate and distribute the 50 foiled wrapped potatoes from Ruby. Turkey's were basted with this Lemon Barbeque Sauce. There's more to this story and lots of folks will have memories of the July 4th get togethers!
