2 Tablespoons butter
2 1/2 pounds round steak
salt and pepper to taste
1 package dry onion soup mix
1 cup beer
2 Tablespoons vinegar
1 cup celery
2 carrots shredded
1 Tablespoon sugar
1/4 cup tomato sauce
1/4 teaspoon thyme
dash parsley flakes

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat. Add steak and brown on both sides seasoning with salt and pepper. Remove from skillet and place in shallow pan. Mix together soup mix, beer, vinegar, celery, carrots, sugar, tomato sauce, thyme and parsley flakes. Pour over steak. Bake in 300 degree oven, covered, for 2 1/2 hours or until steak is tender.
