cup sugar
cup brown sugar
cup shortening
cup molasses
1 egg
2 cups all purpose flour
2 tsps. baking soda
tsp. salt
tsp. cinnamon
tsp. ginger
tsp. cloves
tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients and blend well. Stir in remaining ingredients, blend well. Heat oven to 375F. Shape dough into 1" balls, roll in sugar. Place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake 8 - 10 minutes until edges are set. Cool 1 - 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet.
