3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. light molasses
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1 tsp ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add molasses and egg and beat well. Add dry ingredients. Mix well. Roll in small balls and dip in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º 10-12 minutes for crisp cookies or 8-10 for soft cookies
