1 c. shortening
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
½ c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2-1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1-1/2 c. M&M plain chocolate candies


Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl mix shortening, brown sugar and granulated sugar. Beat in vanilla and eggs. In another bowl, sift flour, baking soda and salt. Add dry ingredients to the sugar-egg mixture. Blend well. Stir in ½ cup M&M’s (save remaining candies for decorating). Drop rounded teaspoons of dough 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate tops with remaining candies and bake on center rack of moderate oven at 375 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
