˝ c. shortening
1 stick oleo
1-1/2 c. sugar
2-1/2 c. plain flour
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
3 tsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
˝ tsp. salt
2 (1 oz.) bottles red cake coloring


Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and oleo and sugar. Add eggs. Sift together dry ingredients and add with buttermilk. Add coloring and flavoring last. Bake at 350 degrees until done.

Filling:
1 box confectioners’ sugar
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 stick oleo
1 c. pecans, chopped

Soften cheese and oleo, mix sugar and pecans, cream together and spread on cooled cake.
